England
Well... the Spurs pull it off with Woody of all people hitting the winner in extra time. WOW. I guess thats all I can say. The Ramos revolution as they say is in full force. He still has Jol players but he can get the job done tactic wise thats for sure. I was definately a fan of his at Sevilla and two cup finals at a club like that is nothing to laugh at. I believe they haven't won the league since 1946 or so.
A Torres hat trick saw Liverpool move up to the top of the chasing pack with a huge win over Middlesbrough. There fans need to stop whining so much really.
Bolton got smashed (sorry i am little partial, my twin brother is a huge supporter) by Blackburn in the so-called Lancashire Derby. Not that its not a real derby they have been playing since way before 1900 but you know what i'm saying, its not the super classico or Rangers Celtic for example.
The Reading Villa match was a good one, with Reading hanging on until the Cisse mistake in the second half and then Villa just taking their time. With Reading pushing for the equalizer at the end Villa put a nail in their coffin.
We'll be back up above the rest of the midlands clubs soon, where we belong........
The relegation battle in England is heating up and the difference between 'Boro and Fulham in terms of class, luck and points is getting closer by the day. The good 'ole run in is going to have to settle it, and by the looks of it, it should get even tighter soon.
Argentina
My other, other team River Plate had a huge victory against San Lorenzo today to move us up to an early 4th in the table. I know its early but they only play 19 games each half and its 7 points after 3 games, and we're already behind Boca.
Spain
Real Madrid had more than a slight hiccup with the One-Nil loss to Getafe. The Nigerian assasin strikes again, Uche with the decisive and only goal in the 65th minute to bring Madrid back to reality. Meanwhile, Barca put the thrashing to Levante to the tune of Five to One (they're the other team from Valencia, in case anybody cares).
