Saturday Ramblings about this and that....

England

Birmingham vs. Arsenal ended up being quite a game. The harsh tackle in the 3rd minute right in the middle of the park by Martin Taylor Birmingham player resulting in Eduardo, Arsenal's star Brasilian-Croatian striker ending up with a severely broken leg.

I really feel bad for Eduardo as this surely means a good six months on the sidelines and no chance to participate in Euro 2008 or the Champion's League with Arsenal.

Damn Blues stole a point at the end, oh well......... There's still only one team in the West Midlands.

Watching the Man U v Newcastle game at the moment and after Man U's 3rd a second ago this game is now over. Would love to see Newcastle relegated. (sorry Geordies just a personal fantasy)

Chicago Fire

The preseason is coming into form with the team just yesterday signing ex-Wolves striker Tomasz Frankowski to a multi-year deal. He's thirty three has some class to him, but if you ask me he's injury prone and over the hill.

Blanco, our slightly anger prone creative midfielder, is already getting into fracasas with other teams players. In just our first round of preseason games against Toronto the other day Blanco got into a shoving match with their creative midfielder the Brasilian Edu.

This is shaping up to be quite a year for the Fire, exciting to say the least with all the recent changes in the front office.

Wolves

Crystal Palace vs Wolves

Wolves finally appear to have turned a corner this seaosn with their impressive win this afternoon at Selhurst Park (Home of Crystal Palace). Even though Palace had been going through a rough patch recently (I believe something like 2 points from their last five games), they had gone on that amazing run of 16 unbeaten in all competitions. Neil Warnock has whipped them into shape with some good tactics and wins away from and at home. And Selhurst Park is never an easy place to come and get any kind of result.

The two wonder goals from this morning were absolutely amazing. One courtesy of our new on loan (from fellow Championship dweller Coventry) Kevin Kyle. The other coming from our Left Back (ex-Blackburn reject) turned Left Winger today. With the latter picking out the top left corner absolutely perfectly.

Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come. The 4-5-1 was not what everybody wanted when the game starts but when you come away with a 2-0 victory no one will complain.

That's all I got for now.........

Nice start to your blogg, Colin.
I hope Franko doe's better for the Fire than he did for Wolves. I've alway's liked him. I saw him often playing in Poland and was very dissapointed that he couldn't follow up with us.
